Configuring the MPI options

Select Inspection under the Application Settings heading.

The Inspection page appears for configuring the options for Technician Inspection.

 

  1. Determine whether to default all condition codes to 'N/A' (gray) where applicable. This will not impact concerns, brake and tire condition codes or condition codes set by external measurements.
  2. Determine whether to show or hide the “All OK” button on the Inspection page for the Technicians.
  3. Determine whether to enable marking all OK on the Inspection page by section (excludes Tires and Brakes).
  4. Determine whether to enable Inspection Cam and Visual MPI. If enabled, determine whether to require at least one image or video to be assigned to a red inspection before it can be saved.
  5. Determine whether all concerns must have a condition code.

 

  1. Set the measurement unit for brake pad thickness in either 32nds of an inch or millimeters (mm).
  2. Set the measurement unit for tread depth in either 32nds of an inch or millimeters (mm).
  3. Configure the tread depth indicator color “Green” by entering the measurement.
  4. Configure the tread depth indicator color “Red” by entering the measurement.
  5. Set the measurement unit for tire pressure to either psi or bar.
  6. Set the default tire pressure.

 

  1. Determine if the Technician can add custom recommendations on the Technician Inspection Window. If not enabled, they can only select from pre-defined recommendations that were set-up in the system by the Dealer Administrator).
  2. Determine whether to automatically delete custom recommendations. A recommendation will only be deleted if not being used in a current inspection (i.e. undelivered vehicle).
  3. If custom recommendation deletion is enabled above, set the number of days after creation that the recommendation is deleted.
  4. Determine whether to show Recommended Services in the Technician Recommendation Window pre-defined services list.
  5. Determine whether to show Factory Scheduled Maintenance services in the Technician Recommendation Window pre-defined services list.
  6. Determine if internal comments are mandatory for concerns. This is configured by condition code.
  7. Determine whether to always mark Factory Schedule Maintenance (FSM) items as "Parts Required". FSM parts may be regularly available at the dealership.
  8. Determine whether to enable "Approve all" and "Defer all" buttons on the Recommendation page.
  9. Determine who can revise inspections after they are marked completed. Select which user-type(s) are allowed to revise inspections. The Dealer Administrator is authorized by default.

 

  1. Determine if labor $ should appear with the Technician recommendations on the MPI PDF.
  2. Determine if price totals should appear with the Technician recommendations on the MPI PDF.
  3. Determine if the total pricing for previously approved services ('Initial Estimate') should be included on the MPI PDF.
  4. (future use) Determine whether to automatically send the MPI report to the customer once work is "Marked All Done" by the Technician.
  5. Set a specific Service Advisor email address.
  6. Set a specific Parts Department email address. An email is sent when an inspection goes to a Parts Request status.

 

  1. Determine whether to enable the "Mark all done" button on the Approved Services page.
  2. Determine if Quarter time is calculated when the inspection is manually created using "Create MPI".
  3. Determine if Promise time is calculated and appears on the vehicle queue page when the inspection is manually created using "Create MPI".
  4. Search date offset can be set to up to 10 days in the past.
